Falina Sinopah Lintner is a local emerging artist, raised in East Glacier Park, Whitefish and exploring the Public Lands of Montana. She studied at University of Montana; graduating in 2012 with a BFA in Fine Arts. Falina works primarily in oil paints often, “en plein air,” on-scene, from life in a single sitting. She carries her pochade painting tools with her on all her adventures and the wet paintings home. She also renders large studio paintings as time allows, being most recognized for her “Glacier Park” series seen in reproduction products in stores around Glacier National Park and with the Glacier Conservancy within the Park.
“On the Scenic Route”, a collection of Backcountry Plein Air by Falina Lintner is a collection of original oil paintings rendered from life and completed on site in a single sitting. “Backcountry” is considered anywhere it is required the artist to spend overnight(s), go off-trail, go thousands of feet up in elevation and/or just be a little extra hard-to-get to catch the view. All of the locations of the series are local within a 100 mile radius, all reached by foot. Falina approaches plein air as a practice in presence and uses the journey to the vista to achieve the mindset to do it. The results are mementos resonant with spirit of place.
